On Friday, November 8, 2024, ICMS Samarpan officially welcomed a new cohort of students into the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program. While the students had an introductory orientation before the Dashain and Tihar holidays, today’s event marked the formal beginning of their journey in IT education.
The program began with a traditional diya-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the start of an enlightening academic journey. Dr. Kishor Adhikari, Campus Chief, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, emphasizing the limitless potential in the field of IT and the support ICMS offers to its students. A vibrant welcome dance followed, adding warmth and energy to the event.
The second half included an engaging Q&A session focused on the industry-academia interface in IT, where students gained insights into bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. Mr. Niko Gurung, the program director, led an orientation session, offering guidance on academic expectations and future opportunities in the program. Hosted by Mr. Sanjay Khadka as the master of ceremonies, the event concluded with an informal session where students participated in fun activities, fostering camaraderie. A delicious lunch was served, leaving students feeling both welcomed and excited for what lies ahead.
This orientation marks the beginning of an enriching journey for our BCA students at ICMS Samarpan, where education, innovation, and community go hand in hand.
